Fast forward to November 2024 and the sister publication of V Magazine (in the United States) is going strong. Making an appearance on the cover of V Magazine China this month is actress Lucy Liu. Fresh from the covers of Vogue Singapore, the American actress (and star of the action/comedy “Red One”) appears before the lens of photographer Jack Bridgland. Anna Trevelyan styled Lucy Liu for the cover shoot, selecting an embellished jacket from the Gucci Cruise 2025 collection of Sabato De Sarno.

Chanel is still without a creative director, following the abrupt departure of Virginie Viard in June. Rumors remain rife within the industry that Bottega Veneta’s Matthieu Blazy is set to be announced as Viard’s replacement. Today, on December 3, the house of Chanel ventured to Hangzhou, China to present its Métiers d’art collection for Pre-Fall 2025. More than 1000 guests lined the runway (including brand ambassador Lupita Nyong’o), as models emerged from backstage and out onto the runway at nightfall. Staged adjacent to the majestic waters of the West Lake, the Chanel design studio team blended traditional Chinese garment detailing with a 70s Western flare. The Chanel Pre-Fall 2025 collection was ultimately inspired by the treasured Coromandel screens in the iconic Rue Cambon apartment of Mademoiselle Gabrielle Chanel (one even features the city of Hangzhou and its famous lake).

The 2024 Gucci Gift advertising campaign is apparently the gift that keeps on giving. Spread across five chapters, chapter one served up Kendall Jenner and gang evoking the spirit of the legendary Savoy hotel in London. Chapter two saw Jenner join Kirsty Hume and daughter Violet, with the casting venturing off on an alpine adventure. The third installment of the Gucci Gift campaign celebrates all-things family for the festive season. Gucci creative director Sabato De Sarno casts Tina Knowles and Solange Knowles as the embodiment of the campaign. Also part of the cast for chapter three are Duyen Nguyen, Lauren Nguyen, Chloe Nguyen, Mariel Hemingway, Dree Hemingway, Langley Fox Hemingway, and Yanii Gough. Each of the three families were captured by De Sarno favorite Anthony Seklaoui for the occasion.
