Katie Grand and Bryan Grey Yambao at Perfect Magazine sure do know how to generate some buzz. The twosome kick-started 2024 by bringing Bella Hadid out of retirement. Supermodels Linda Evagelista, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, and Kate Moss were ushered in as cover stars for Issue 6. Issue 6.5 went to Rihanna (as you’ve never seen her before). Issue 7 saw the Barbadian songstress swiftly welcomed back as cover star. The next global sensation to take to the cover of Perfect Magazine (this time for Issue 8) is Selena Gomez. The American singer, actress, and beauty mogul poses for photographer Morgan Maher on location in New York. Katie Grand styled Gomez over six collectible covers. Grand selected looks from DKNY, Saint Laurent, Simone Rocha, Valentino, Christopher Kane for Self-Portrait, and Self-Portrait for the occasion.

“Selena Gomez is always a NO for me,” stated DK92 upon digesting the covers.

“Always for me too,” replied vogue28. “On the magazine cover front, Selena via the lens of Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott for American Vogue [April 2017] remains the one to beat. I like the first cover shot. Perhaps I could have done without the juvenile circular art direction.”

Amelia Gray has become an unstoppable force within the world of fashion. The industry continues to embrace the all-American model like there’s no tomorrow. In such a short space of time, Gray has covered Vogue Adria and W Korea while becoming the face of mega brands like Michael Kors and Balenciaga. Amelia’s latest addition to her ever-growing portfolio is yet another Vogue cover for 2024. Shin Kwang-ho is the latest industry heavyweight to endorse Amelia Gray, welcoming her as a Vogue Korea cover girl for November 2024. Across a total of four covers, Amelia poses before the lens of Luigi & Iango. In each of the cover images, the photographic duo capture Gray in an array of Saint Laurent looks, as selected for the occasion by cover shoot stylist Eunji Shin.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“The only exciting thing about these covers is Isabelle Huppert’s name,” shrieked avonlea002 the moment the covers struck.

“Oh, the second cover hurts my eyes,” expressed phungnam96.

“The third cover is atrocious. Amelia Gray doesn’t have the legs to pull it off. I like the second one, which fits her color palette,” svpernova chimed in.

“I can’t stand Amelia Gray, I don’t know why. Oh no, I do, because she seems extremely bland with nearly zero skills,” critiqued forum member audace.

Yet not everyone was left so disheartened. “The art direction is painful but the first cover is good!” Lola701 admitted.

“I like the first cover, particularly the color scheme,” admired kokobombon.

“The first two covers with Amelia Gray are the strongest out of the four. This might just be the best I’ve seen from her in terms of Vogue covers. The first is gorgeous, absolutely love those muted colors, everything is working – from the art direction to the beauty styling,” vogue28 enthused.

You’re no doubt completely and fully aware that Anthony Vaccarello likes himself some Juergen Teller as Saint Laurent campaign photographer. Vaccarello has called upon the famed German photographer to lens the historic French fashion house’s campaign imagery on umpteen occasions throughout his tenure as creative director. More recently, Teller photographed Chloë Sevigny for the Fall 2024 campaign offering. For the Saint Laurent Winter 2024 installment, Juergen Teller is back to capture a handful of Vaccarello’s muses. Those muses include Kate Moss, Charlotte Rampling, Ajus Samuel, Anja Rubik, Binx Walton, Awar Odhiang, and Penelope Ternes. The ladies pose within the surroundings of a stylish Art Deco Parisian brasserie in looks from Vaccarello’s chic Saint Laurent collection unveiled in February during Paris Fashion Week.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“So good! I just can’t get enough of Saint Laurent campaigns,” shared fruitbasedsnack.

“Binx! I would have been fine with just Charlotte Rampling and Kate Moss. I don’t mind the other women though. Good campaign, very Louis Vuitton with Madonna by Meisel in the spirit,” Lola701 noted.

“Charlotte, Kate, Anja and Awar were enough for me. Charlotte is definitely the star,” commented GivenchyAddict.

Also in love with the casting was audace: “Kate, Anja and Charlotte Rampling? This casting is perfect!”

Yet not everyone was impressed. “No soul. Aseptic. Lifeless. Empty. Some pictures are just pretty, but there’s nothing behind them. No warmth, no feelings, no passion, no nothing. I don’t know why that is. There’s no soul at all,” Creative critiqued.

“Depressing, and not in a cool way,” chimed in 90sFan.

Juergen Teller remains a firm fave of Anthony Vaccarello. Since 2019, Vaccarello (who became the creative force behind Saint Laurent in 2016) has endorsed the revered German photographer to no end. Campaigns from Teller over the years have featured everyone from new faces like Penelope Ternes to more seasoned models like Freja Beha Erichsen. Teller remains on the books with the unveiling of the Saint Laurent Fall 2024 advertising campaign offering. This time around, the Belgian designer insisted upon Teller pointing his lens toward Chloë Sevigny, who morphs into the ultimate Saint Laurent woman for the occasion. The American actress is captured on location in Paris, decked out in a look from Vaccarello’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection and toting the Sac de Jour handbag.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“I never understood the hype about Chloë Sevigny. In fact, I only found out who she was a few years ago. Here in Brazil at least she is a complete unknown. Terrible campaign,” voiced DK92.

“Saint Laurent campaigns are so boring. You either get drab daylight shots by Teller or B&W studio images from Sims and Sorrenti that all look the same,” pointed out avonlea002.

“I love Chloe Sevigny but she is more Vuitton/Loewe/Celine. She maybe has too much personal style for YSL by Vaccarello,” Lola701 noted.

Yet not everyone was so dismayed. “Fully on board with this,” approved lelaid.

“The second shot is much better. I love Chloë!” GivenchyAddict exclaimed.

Paris is burning, with the Spring 2025 season of Paris Fashion Week in full swing. Running from September 23 until October 1, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode’s jam-packed schedule grants us a total of 66 physical runway shows and 40 presentations.

Report: Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025

Maria Grazia Chiuri was tasked with opening up Paris Fashion Week, with the first female creative director of Christian Dior looking to the women of the Amazon throughout history (in particular Diana, goddess of the hunt) for inspo. MGC enlisted Artist and archer Sagg Napoli to kick off the show, who shot arrows along the catwalk as models paraded athletic yet feminine silhouettes. It was soon time to head to the Saint Laurent HQ on Rue de Bellechasse, to check out Anthony Vaccarello’s tribute to Monsieur Yves Saint Laurent himself, with the Belgian designer inspired by the late designer’s wardrobe. Models (including Bella Hadid) stormed the oval-shaped runway decked out in an array of oversized suits, trench coats, and bomber jackets.

Day three of Paris Fashion Week started off strong, with Nicolas Di Felice of Courrèges taking up the morning slot. Guests were spaced around a set with a gigantic ocean drum situated in the middle. Models emerged from backstage in Di Felice’s sleek and monochromatic lineup. Mid-day on September 25 and it was time for the industry to bare witness to the first Dries Van Noten show with out the revered Belgian designer at the helm. The Spring 2025 collection was crafted by the in-house design team in Antwerp, offering up boldly layered colors, fabrics, prints, and embroidery. Brightly-mixed patterns and the house’s signature chainmail were on full display at Julien Dossena’s Rabanne showcase. As night fell over the city of Paris on day three, Olivier Rousteing relied upon his essentials and signature pieces, from blazers with dramatic pointy shoulders to structured dresses with cinched waists at Balmain.

The fashion pack gathered to see Chemena Kamali’s highly-anticipated sophomore outing as Chloé creative director, who doubled down on the boho aesthetic and sought inspiration in the true essence of summer. Dramatic bangs and wide-shouldered, cinched waist dresses and blazers graced the runway at Mugler (designed by Casey Cadwallader), as the brand commemorates its 50th anniversary this year. Rick Owens returned to the Palais de Tokyo in Paris for a presentation of epic and otherworldly proportions while Daniel Roseberry once again brought his creative eye and innate flair for couture-level detailing to Schiaparelli.

The best part? There’s so much to look forward to, as we head into the second portion of Paris Fashion Week. Scroll further for theFashionSpot’s hits and misses (so far) from Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025:

“Dries is in good hands. I liked the collection a lot, beautiful ephemeral vibes.” [Olaffo]

“The studio team should be proud. Love the colors, prints, textures and styling. They should just promote someone internally, who knows the language of Dries.” [j02215]

“Leave it to Dries Van Noten to hire a team that can design a strong collection without him. As someone who despises interim collections, I wouldn’t be mad if they just continued like this for the next few years.” [LadyJunon]

MISS | Rabanne

“Louis Vuitton by Nicholas Ghesquière but with chainmail embroideries and dresses.” [FashionPower]

“A total copy and paste from Nicolas Ghesquière. It could have been executed in a better way.” [badgalcrush]

“Definitely not his best. Some good ideas and I love the pastels, but the silhouettes are very strange. The shapes look dowdy and blobby.” [GoldenPetals]

“Wow, at last Anthony Vaccarello expands his vocabulary. I did not believe he could do it. I think it’s the best collection of his tenure.” [yslforever]

“I can always count on AV to put on a good show. Obsessed with the jacquard in the middle section.” [IsabelMarantBoy]

“I think it’s a great direction. It makes good use of the YSL codes and there’s a sense of camp fun to it that’s basically non-existent in fashion anymore.” [GoldenPetals]

MISS | Courrèges

IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“Fashion straight from the morgue. Sad, lifeless, flat, colorless, and cold.” [IloveDiorHomme]

“I’m not feeling it. At this point of Nicolas Di Felice’s tenure, I feel like I’ve seen this collection one hundred times.” [helmutnotdead]

“Lazy. (Di Felice should push him elf beyond self-indulgence of his fandom for his fashion heroes ) and not enough development in fabrics colors and brand product offerings and the image is stale already. Being obsessed with the late 90s/early 00s minimalist gods does not equal a strong point of view.” [PDSFD]

MISS | Christian Dior

All the Hits & Misses (So Far!) From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025

“There was nothing new here, even by Maria Grazia Chiuri’s standards. It’s basically everything that Maria has already shown previously. Confused as to why they felt the need to put on a show with this collection? Also, that archery component was the most awkward and bizarre thing ever. So random and what does it have to do with the history of Christian Dior?” [Frederic01]

“MGC is probably the most boring and unimaginative designer ever. Dear lord her shows make me feel sleepy.” [Creative]

“It’s bizarre and boring.” [reese06]

HIT | Mugler

“This is a good collection from Casey Cadwallader! Surprising to actually see some clothes for a summer season at Mugler. For what it’s worth, the spirit of Mugler is there.” [Lola701]

“This might be the most Mugler collection I’ve ever seen since they reanimated the label. The suit jackets are quite stunning.” [GoldenPetals]

“Those first looks are very strong. Those jackets with the pockets are really sharp as a knife.” [Norden]

HIT | Balmain

All the Hits & Misses (So Far!) From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2025
IMAGE | SPOTLIGHT/LAUNCHMETRICS

“I can’t bring myself to dislike any of Olivier Rousteing’s work. There is something very honest and genuine in his creations. He is the embodiment of his work and I can see that it’s a very personal process for him. He is Balmain and it’s nice to see a brand with such longevity similar to Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel.” [tourbillions]

“I think it’s one of his best collections in a while. The hourglass silhouette on the skirts is just gorgeous. Nobody else is producing stuff like this to be sold as RTW.” [Nimsay]

“I love how relaxed the whole thing felt, mostly through the presence of more flou and softer tones.” [Lola701]

MISS | Ganni

HIT | Chloé

“I love it! This is Chloé at its inner sanctum!” [disco54]

“One of the best interpretations of Chloé I’ve seen in YEARS. Chemena was made for this position and it shows, all the girlies will go bananas for those baby doll and empire dresses (and don’t get me started on those pants).” [GERGIN]

“It’s so effective and desirable! Love love love.” [Ihhbl]

MISS | Rick Owens

“I’m so tired of this.” [helmutnotdead]

“Rick’s out of ideas. I can’t believe the kiss heels are still on the runway.” [CincyCritic]

“It’s just a parade of variants of the same ideas Rick Owens has been making in the last years: the platform boots, the monster shoulders, and the ‘turd’ volumes. This feels like rejected versions of them all, condensed into one collection. The show was also in the same place, with the same fog machines, the same contact lenses worn by models, the same people throwing flower petals… the same everything.” [jeanclaude]

MISS | Loewe

“This was boring for being in your tenth year at Loewe.” [youthinasia]

“I thought the collection would never end. So boring and it seems JW Anderson wasn’t able to explore good concepts. I hated those volumes and prints. There was some good leather work and tailoring but meh…” [thiago]

“Very weak. I’m disappointed.” [ghostwriter10549]

HIT | Schiaparelli

“This looks pretty fabulous and desirable.” [TianCouture]

“I love it. Feels like his most ready-to-wear outing yet for the ready-to-wear line, which is good. Strong casting, too.” [Mr-Dale]

“I really love the oversized Couture Hoodies. I love the contre-emploi of things here. Everything seems to be an elevated version of something very casual. There’s nothing new but it feels somehow fresh and now. The fabrication is really exceptional. A lot can be said about Schiaparelli by Roseberry but the standards are at an all time high! The attention to details down to the buttons is deserving of an applause. It screams quality.” [Lola701]

MISS | Acne Studios

“Temu Loewe.” [youthinasia]

“I will say this every time they present a collection: what happened to this brand is embarrassing. Years ago, this was a cool attainable brand, similar to A.P.C and Ami but somehow things went left and never came back to what they were. This mess looks no different.” [Yasouss]

“Complicated for the sake of being complicated.” [Cocteau Stone]

On September 24, Kate and Lila Moss had an adorable mother-daughter twinning moment at the Saint Laurent Paris Fashion Week show. The duo was seated separately, with the supermodel seated alongside Zoë Kravitz for the fashion show. However, their matching outfits weren’t missed, as both went with an all-black see-through look. While Kate Moss opted for mesh, her daughter Lila turned heads in a lacy gown that left little to the imagination.

The star-studded Saint Laurent Paris Fashion Week show also had Kate Moss and her daughter Lila in attendance. The supermodel looked elegant in her sheer maxi dress layered with a velvet blazer, which had glitter-adorned lapels that added a hint of sparkle to her ensemble. The glitter was a good pairing with her dress’s pleats, incorporating some fun into the otherwise elegant look.

She accessorized the outfit with gold jewelry, opting for chunky bangles and statement earrings. Moss paired her fit with a matching glitter-adorned handbag. For hair and makeup, the model kept it minimal, letting her mesh maxi dress steal the show. She went with a slicked-back hairstyle and minimalistic makeup that further elevated her fashion choices.

Lila Moss was also present at the Saint Laurent Paris Fashion Week show, although sitting away from her mother. She matched her mom’s energy in a lacy gown that showcased her black underwear. The intricate lace ensemble was more risqué than Kate’s pick, being completely see-through. She also used a leather belt to provide more structure to the look.

Unlike her mom, Lila decided to go without any jewelry, letting her outfit be the main focus. Although she didn’t walk the red carpet with a handbag, she was reportedly spotted holding a geometric clutch, per TZR. Kate and Lila Moss’ twinning moment didn’t end at the outfits, as the up-and-coming model rocked her mom’s signature hairstyle to finish the look.

Tonight, on the evening of day two of Paris Fashion Week, Anthony Vaccarello unveiled his Saint Laurent Spring 2025 collection. Guests and friends of the Kering-owned luxury fashion house (including everyone from Kate Moss to Zoë Kravitz) gathered within the courtyard of the Saint Laurent HQ on Rue de Bellechasse. Echoing the mood of the Fall 2024 menswear collection, Vaccarello’s latest was a tribute to Yves Saint Laurent himself. Under a dramatic golden roof, an army of models (including Bella Hadid staging a not-so-surprising runway comeback) stormed the oval-shaped runway decked out in an array of oversized suits, trench coats, and bomber jackets. Elsewhere throughout the collection, Vaccarello explored the late designer’s eye for texture, color, and his love of bohemian blouses and mini skirts.

Read below the reactions of theFashionSpot’s forum members:

“Repetitive silhouettes aside, I really love this collection.” [LadyJunon]

“Well, I’m sold. Definitely repetitive, but I love it when fashion looks expensive. He still manages to project a Saint Laurent fantasy, which I appreciate.” [thiago]

“Despite the literal translation in a lot of looks from the menswear collection, I loved it – until Vaccarello started messing it up with those UGLY skirts. The leather coats are glorious.” [Ihhbl]

“Those shiny jackets at the end might be all over next year! The last section was just delicious. Fabulous use of color.” [tourbillions]

Should you read theFashionSpot forums, speculation has been rife regarding Bella Hadid staging an overdue runway comeback on tonight’s Saint Laurent catwalk. The rumors were indeed true, with the American beauty having walked Anthony Vaccarello’s Saint Laurent Spring 2025 showcase during Paris Fashion Week – confirming our suspicions. The occasion marked a comeback for Hadid, whose last notable runway appearance was for the Miu Miu Spring 2023 collection unveiling, back in March 2022.

On the oval-shaped runway, Bella wowed the crowd as she emerged from backstage looking like Yves Saint Laurent himself, dressed in an oversized suit and glasses reminiscent of those of the late celebrated designer.

Bella has become a muse of Anthony Vaccarello over recent years, with the Belgian designer and Saint Laurent creative director enlisting the industry fave as one of the faces of the Fall 2024 Saint Laurent advertising campaign. Hadid joined fellow Vaccarello faves Penelope Ternes, Liu Wen, actress Kiko Mizuhara and Blackpink’s Rosé via the lens of photographer Gray Sorrenti for the occasion.

Thus far, the year 2024 has been somewhat of a quiet affair for Bella. After all, she has only graced the covers of Vogue Italia and Perfect, and appeared in just the one major advertising campaign for Saint Laurent. Fresh from the launch of Orebella (the genderless, clean skincare brand from Hadid) in March, Bella was recently named a global brand ambassador for Chopard.

Here’s to hoping there is more Bella Hadid to come our way in the very near future.

It has become somewhat of a tradition for us here at theFashionSpot to throw it back a whole decade, on the eve of each fashion week. You’ve encountered our New York, London and Milan installments and now it’s time to head back to the Spring 2015 season of Paris Fashion Week.

Sarah Burton was the creative force behind Alexander McQueen in the September of 2014, offering up a collection based on her very own treasured collection of antique kimonos and intricate fabric swatches. Cropped jackets and asymmetrical mini skirts had a rock ‘n’ roll sensibility at Anthony Vaccarello’s showcase and a sporty vibe oozed from Alexander Wang’s monochromatic Balenciaga collection. Riccardo Tisci sent out a gang of his model muses decked out into corsets, leather pants and thigh-high boots at Givenchy. Simon Porte Jacquemus transformed his runway into a beach scene, complete with parasols, deck chairs and the sound of waves crashing for his Spring 2015 nautical-inspired collection. Hedi Slimane continued to display his love for all-things glam rock at Saint Laurent while the late Karl Lagerfeld staged a protest at the Chanel show, complete with models (like Cara Delevingne and Gisele Bundchen) shouting through megaphones.
